Detailed information

Samarium-cobalt magnet materials are mainly divided into two series: 1:5 (SmCo5) and 2:17 (Sm2Co17).

The sintered samarium-cobalt magnetic material is brittle and breakable, so the conventional manners cannot be used for its machining. It is necessary to use a grinding wheel with high diamond content, and cool with water or oil at the same time.

Property:

The Curie temperature of samarium cobalt can reach 710-880 ° C, the maximum working temperature can reach 250-350 ° C, which is higher than NdFeB’s highest working temperature 230 ° C;

Samarium cobalt has better corrosion resistance property compared with NdFeB;

When the working temperature is higher than 150 °C, samarium cobalt has lower flux loss than NdFeB;

1:5 type samarium cobalt (SmCo5) has the maximum energy product 8 MGOe (140 kJ/m3), and the Br reversible temperature coefficient is -0.05%/°C;

2:17 type samarium cobalt (Sm2Co17) has the maximum magnetic energy product 30 MGOe (240 kJ/m3), its is difficult to be processed, the carbon content is lower than that of 1:5 type, and the raw material cost is lower relatively;

2:17 type samarium cobalt has great corrosion resistance property and magnetic property stability in thermal state. Compared with other rare-earth permanent magnetic materials, it’s reversible temperature coefficient is -0.03%/°C, which is the minimum.

Application fields:

Servo motor, water pump connector and sensor;

The magnetic materials application that requires high working temperature;

The magnetic materials application working in environment of high temperature, high humidity, and high corrosivity
