Nickel zinc ferrite is a solid solution of NiFe2O4 and ZnFe2O4. It is added with metals such as magnesium, lanthanum, copper, cobalt, etc. It has a spinel structure with fine and small grains, and is a porous structure. The volume resistivity ranges from thousands of ohms per centimetre to tens of megohm per centimetre. In the low frequency range, the performance of nickel zinc ferrite is not as good as that of manganese zinc ferrite, however, it is widely suitable for high-frequency applications with weak magnetic fields above 1MHz. The nickel zinc ferrite has a linear expansion coefficient of about 8 ppm/°C.
