The reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field. Reed switch contains a pair (or more) of magnetically, flexible, metal reeds whose end portions are separated by a small gap when the switch is open. The reeds are hermetically sealed in opposite ends of a tubular glass envelope. There is gapmutual contact between the reeds to consist the normal opennormal close contact.

The construction of reed switch is simpler than mechanical switch. It has small volume, high speed, and long working life. Compared to electronic switch, reed switch has stronger anti load shock ability. The function is much more reliable.
